Interesting article. We have had dogs most of our married life and although we love our fur-baby we find that dog costs have risen like everything else. We have had Charlie for only four months but have already spent over $5000 even with pet insurance; between medicine, flea and tick prevention, Lyme disease treatment and finally Charlie was diagnosed with a type of arthritis. Pet owning is a huge financial commitment.
